Playing For The Philadelphia/San Francisco Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers And Then The Los Angeles Lakers, Wilt Chamberlin Became The Best Scorer And Rebounder In NBA History. He Was Also The First Player To Score 30,000 Points. He Was The Only Player To Average 40-50 Points In A Single Season. While Some Of His Records Have Since Been Broken, At One Time Chamberlin Held Or Shared 43 NBA Records. He Was A Four-Time Most Valuable Player, As Well.
At 7-Feet, 1-Inches Tall, Chamberlin Was The First Professional Basketball Player Over 7 Feet. He Played The Center Position And Is Considered By His Contemporaries As One Of The Greatest And Most Dominant Players in the History Of The NBA. He Was A 13-Time All-Star And Won Two NBA Championships -- In 1967 And 1972.
Wilt Chamberlin Retired From The NBA In 1974. He Was Inducted Into The Hall Of Fame In 1978 And Was Voted One Of The Game's 50 Greatest Players In 1996.
He Died October 12, 1999, Of Heart Failure. He Was 63.
